Enjoy two days and a night sailing around the Lake Erie Islands aboard the 2 banjo 2! Captain Rob Compton is offering an overnight sailing experience aboard his classic 30-foot Catalina sailboat. Relax and enjoy views of sparkling water, Cedar Point roller coasters and picturesque islands or learn some sailing skills yourself.
Captain Rob has been sailing for 20 years. He is a certified instructor for the International Charter Sailing Organization (ICSO) and holds a US Coast Guard Master License (50 ton) with a sailing endorsement. This guy knows how to safely navigate the waters of Lake Erie and he is a master sailor who loves to help others learn and enjoy sailing themselves.
Rob sails the 2 banjo 2 from the Port Clinton / Catawba Island (Ohio) area. The boat features three sleeping areas (berths), two for couples and one for a single. The 2 banjo 2 can comfortably accommodate four people for an overnight trip, or more for a day trip.
You and Rob will plan the itinerary of your trip, which will focus on a chain of archipelagic islands in Lake Erie, including:
Kelleys Island. Kelley’s Island is a great place to enjoy a more quiet, nature-lover’s experience. Kelley’s Island offers beautiful hiking trails; a winery; Inscription Rock, featuring Native American carvings dating back to 1643; and Glacial Grooves State Park where you can view a spectacular artifact of receding glaciers from the last Ice Age.
Base Islands. The Bass Islands are composed of South, Middle and North. Middle Bass Island is best known as the home of Put In Bay. Put In Bay offers many restaurants and fun attractions like the Crystal Cave which is the world’s largest geode, a butterfly museum and an antique car museum.
