Diane has faced difficult challenges – she spent time up north with her father as he died of cancer and then returned to have to seek shelter from an abusive situation, all while caring for a teenage son and an older, disabled daughter. Then her car, which was critical for getting to her part time job and to her daughter’s doctor’s appointments, broke down.
Shelter staff suggested that she contact Friends in Deed, and as she discussed her situation with our caseworker. Friends In Deed stepped in and paid for the car repair. She is now able to start a full time job and follow up on apartment leads to get her family settled.
Organizations like this are really good when you need them. I’m so grateful that my car is getting fixed – it is really important to me. Thank you so much!
