Mwashite is a single mom with a two-year-old child. She came to the United States in 2010 as a refugee from Tanzania, Africa. Since that time, she’s found work but sometimes struggled to find a place to live. In fact, she recently spent three months at the Staples Family Center.
Things are looking up for Mwashite. She now has a job and an apartment. The problem is transportation. Mwashite has managed to get her child to daycare and herself to work, but it hasn’t been easy. At one point, her commute involved 40 minutes of walking and three buses.
“What happens when snow is coming? You cannot push a stroller.”
Friends In Deed was able to come to her assistance by passing on a car donated to us from a generous supporter.
“I thank God! Thank you so much for your help.”
