Ted has given his nephew a home for five years now. While he had a hand-me-down bed for the boy, it started to really lose its shape with use.
“The springs were poking him,” Ted said. The mattress was so bad that Ted’s nephew has been sleeping on the couch for the last two months.
Ted has always used recycled furniture and is very familiar with organizations in Ypsilanti that sell or trade it. While he’d heard about Friends In Deed’s free furniture program, he hadn’t yet used us before applying for a twin mattress for his nephew. He was surprised when he came to pick up it up that he could choose between a used mattress or a new mattress.
“My nephew has allergies, so getting a new mattress was definitely a benefit. A new mattress is ideal.”
Sweet dreams!
