Rhonda is a para-educator in the Ypsilanti Community School District and attending college to become a social worker. While she recently obtained a car, she wasn’t quite able to afford the car insurance to actually use it.

Her defeated expression caught the attention of Charlene, Friends In Deed’s MSU-obsessed case manager, during a visit to a local Secretary of State office. Charlene approached her, and after hearing the problem, advised Rhonda to “give us a call.”

We were able to help Rhonda out with a the amount she was short for car insurance. Now Rhonda can get to work; get her eight-year-old son, Jeremiah, to school and after-school tutoring; get her nine-year-old niece to school; and help out her friends and neighbors by dropping off and picking up their kids when needed.

This is a great example of what a relatively small donation ($68) can do.
